God First, Then the Miracle

A weekend among other women can be as diverse as each participant. Arriving, finding peace, letting go, recharging your batteries, and returning home feeling refreshed and encouraged. And all of this in just three days. With her loving, open, and joyful manner, pastor Shaina Strimbu reminded us this weekend of women from the Bible from whom we could learn a great deal:

God first, then the miracle – the widow of Zarephath: A woman of faith who passes a great test of faith. She chooses God first and experiences a great miracle.
Just one touch – the woman with the issue of blood: She gives her all for that one moment, for that one touch that changes her whole life.
Letting go brings peace – Hannah: She lets go of her worries and places everything in God’s hands. He takes care of her burdens.
Give everything, just don’t give up – Deborah: The only female judge. With all her heart, full of joy, and of her own free will, she stands up for what is right. Familiar stories, and yet it’s worth taking a deeper look.

Familiar stories, yet it’s worth taking a deeper look. Sharing and praying together strengthened us. We were able to praise and glorify God through music. There was room for tears and for laughter as well.

A special highlight this year was the outreach event on Sabbath afternoon in Freudenstadt. As a choir of about 40 women, we sang in the town square. Meanwhile, other women handed out roses with lovingly crafted messages, letters containing Bible verses, and personal words to passersby. We were also able to give away books and pray for some people. It was a great blessing for everyone involved. May the seeds that were sown sprout and grow.
