The Women's Ministries Department of the South Transylvania Conference kicked off the new year with a special meeting dedicated to the leaders involved in this ministry. On February 14, approximately 60 women gathered with a sincere desire to strengthen, encourage, and remind each other that our ministry has its source in God.
The theme of the meeting, "The Power of the Weaker Vessel," led us to a profound truth: although Scripture speaks of the "weaker vessel," the power does not lie in the vessel, but in the content that God places in it. "But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us." (2 Corinthians 4:7).
Angela Tămășan spoke to us about the treasure in the clay vessel, reminding us that it is not our fragility that matters, but the grace that fills us. Liliana Radu, director of the Women's Ministries Department within the Union, presented the role and practical directions of the department, offering concrete ideas and projects that can be easily implemented. Dr. Lavinia Profir, a psychiatrist, reminded us that "God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong" (1 Corinthians 1:27). In a world where women wear many roles and often carry many burdens, we were encouraged to discover our talents and put them to work with purpose and clarity. Her seminar provided us with practical tools and direction.
A special moment was the testimony of Sister Blaga Orsolya, who shared her experience with God in her struggle with a rare disease—living proof that in weakness, His strength is made perfect.
The meeting was sweetened by musical moments performed by Andrei Dunăreanu, Jánosi Szilvia, and the Mellostrings group, who brought light and sensitivity to our souls.
Anamaria Maier also presented practical projects for Women's Mission, demonstrating that work is possible and fruitful when there is availability and desire.
After spiritual nourishment, we enjoyed a time of fellowship around a lovingly prepared meal. In conclusion, each sister received a promise from the "Vessel of Promises," a symbolic and meaningful gesture.
This meeting was more than an event. It was a time of filling the weak vessel so that it could carry on the greatest treasure, the righteousness of Christ. We are only the vessel; the treasure is His.
We leave motivated, strengthened, and determined to continue this beautiful mission, confident that we do not serve by our own strength, but by the strength He gives us.
