The women of the Hamburg-Ghana church observe the two Women’s Ministries (WM) special sabbaths to promote spiritual growth. As in March, the women of the Hamburg-Ghana congregation gathered again in June for a week of fellowship and spiritual communion. The week began on Sunday, June 7, with daily online meetings via Zoom and culminated on Sabbath, June 13, with a special worship service at the church.
Dressed in their finest, the English- and Twi-speaking women celebrated this special Sabbath together. It was striking that the colors of the traditional dresses varied by age group, reflecting the diversity and beauty of African culture.
The Bible passage for Akua Konadu Brobbey’s sermon was taken from Isaiah 6:8 and focused on God’s call: “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Are we ready to respond, like Isaiah: “Hinneni—Here I am, send me!” Can God send us? Are we ready to go? On this Sabbath, special attention was given to women in mission. Jesus has given us a commission. Are we ready to follow His call?
