  • Women's Spiritual Retreat in Lentini, Sicily

On Sunday, April 21, the Women's Ministries Department of the Adventist Church in Lentini, Sicily, organized a spiritual retreat. We were hosted in a small villa near the sea, amidst lots of greenery and a breathtaking view of Mount Etna. “Seasons of Life” was the theme of the meeting.
For each season, the reflection focused on the story of a woman from the Bible, followed by a dialogue, some reflections, personal experiences and prayers.
For “The Season of Being” (childhood and adolescence), we talked about Dina. At this time of life, the presence of family and community is important, with lots of dialogue and communication!
For “The Season of Doing” (adult woman), our focus turned to Ruth: choices, family, work, career, success, children.
Finally, for “The Season of Remembrance” (old age), the biblical figure chosen was Naomi: being old, frail, single, widowhood, relationships with new generations, grandchildren.
Posters were drawn, according to ages and various moods, with clear skies, small clouds on the horizon, green trees with many or few fruits! There was no shortage of walks, under the warm spring sun, to admire the wonders of the Ionian Sea coastline and vegetation.
We left thanking God, happy with the day spent and hoping to meet again soon.
