  • Women’s Ministries Torch is Passed on

The appreciation for the work of the Women’s Ministries Department in the eastern regions of Germany has grown. Thus the conference leadership appointed Gabriele Stangl as new Women’s Ministries leader for the region. Gabriele is a pastor who has worked as a chaplain for Waldfriede Hospital in Berlin for many years. She also initiated the anonymous baby hatch where distressed mothers could leave their newborn babies in good care. In 2011 she received the Medal of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany (awarded by the Federal President Christian Wulff) from the mayor of the Steglitz-Zehlendorf district, Norbert Kopp, in Berlin.

We are sure that Gabriele will be a worthy successor for Silke Donat and wish her a good start in her new duties.
