Women’s Ministries interview with Audrey Andersson during Annual Council 2026.

What is Annual Councili about?

Women's Ministries

During Annual Council 2026, General Conference Women’s Ministries Director Galina Stele interviewed General Vice President Audrey Andersson. This was an occasion for Audrey to explain her role in the worldwide church and what Annual Council is all about.

From the transcript:

“Annual Council is the busiest time of the year, but it's also the most exciting time of the year. Union presidents come in from around the world, and they are the voice of the church. So it's a case of all the unions being represented here. The division leadership, president, secretary, and treasurer are here, and then the elected leaders at the general conference, and we discuss all kinds of things, different issues, different exciting initiatives. We get updates from around the world, and it is so important because we get the opportunity to listen to each other to understand why we're different, how we're different, and what works in one place doesn't necessarily work somewhere else. Exactly. And so we learn, and we come up with good solutions for the church. And so probably this is a time for making decisions, making them together, exchanging ideas, and coming to some conclusions and applications.”

Galina also asked her to share some words with the Adventist women around the world and to give them encouragement.

“You know, God has called everyone to leadership. It doesn't matter whether that leadership is in the home, in our workplace, in the church, outside your life. He wants you to be a channel of blessing to others. And women have a unique role. We can go where other people can't. It's true. And so I would say, use your God-given gifts, touch the lives of those around you, and when you do that, you are fulfilling what God has called you to do.”
