Women's Ministries held an Executive Committee Luncheon during the Annual Council at the General Conference headquarters. Galina Stele, GC Women's Ministries Director, and Omobonike Sessou, Associate Director, hosted women from various departments of church leadership under the theme: WOMEN OF INFLUENCE. Leading with Faith, serving with Purpose. Women of influence, called by God, equipped for leadership and placed for such a time as this to advance His mission and inspire others.
Dr. Alayne Thorpe was honored with a certificate of appreciation for her service. She has a long history in distance education, both as an administrator and a faculty member at Andrews University. Dr. Thorpe worked to develop accreditation standards and best practices for distance education.
It was an occasion for the few women in leadership positions in the SDA church to come together. May their influence grow and be felt.
