Women of Faith, Not of Fear,

Flavio Gasperin

On Sabbath, September 12, the Adventist church in Pordenone, northern Italy, experienced a memorable day dedicated to Women’s Ministries (WM). Monica Carozzi, WM coordinator for the Northern Field of the Italian Adventist Union, was present as the guest speaker. The central theme of the gathering, “Women of Faith, Not of Fear,” inspired and united those present in an atmosphere of fellowship and reflection.

The local Ghanaian community and several women from the Conegliano church also contributed to the event. The gathering provided an important opportunity to strengthen ties among the different church communities, creating an environment of mutual support and spiritual growth.

Morning Activities
The day began with moments of praise and worship, during which the Ghanaian women and Pordenone’s new “Shekhinah” Choir performed songs that touched the hearts of those present. Two women from the congregation also shared personal testimonies and experiences of faith that inspired and encouraged everyone.

The participants then divided into groups to reflect on several significant Bible passages, particularly Judges 4:6–8 and 4:14. These passages provided an opportunity to explore the theme of women’s strength and courage in the Bible. They also sparked a deep and engaging conversation.

The Sermon
The morning culminated in a sermon by Monica Carozzi, who explored the message of Joshua 1:9. The verse’s call not to be afraid and to be strong resonated deeply with the participants, emphasizing the importance of trusting in God and in His calling.

An Afternoon of Creativity and Fellowship
Following the agape meal (a communal lunch), the afternoon was devoted to various activities. The women expressed their creativity through workshops and participated in opportunities for dialogue, sharing their thoughts and reflections.

The singing of the Ghanaian sisters enriched the atmosphere, creating a joyful celebration as the women worked together and supported one another.

Sabbath Conclusion
The day concluded with a prayer led by Monica Carozzi. A group photograph followed, capturing the smiles and emotions shared throughout the day. The gathering left a deep impression on the hearts of the participants and reminded everyone of the importance of being women of faith and courage, ready to face life’s challenges with the support of God and the community.
