  • Women’s Retreat in Mazara del Vallo, Italy

On March 26, we participated in a spiritual retreat organized by the Women’s Ministries of the Adventist Church in Mazara del Vallo, Sicily (Italy). This gathering was designed with the clear goal of helping every woman rediscover her self-esteem—not as pride, but as an awareness of her worth before God.

The morning began with a time of authentic sharing. Profound words, genuine thoughts, without pretense. Each woman was able to express what often remains hidden: fears, insecurities, inner questions. From there, we began a journey toward self-awareness. One of the most meaningful moments was the one dedicated to identity. We reflected on names, on meanings, on what God says about us. The psychological aspect was intense and liberating. Through symbolic and concrete activities, we worked on limiting negative thoughts and emotions that sometimes take hold of our minds. It was a simple yet powerful act to let go of what was holding us back; to break free from thoughts like “I’m not enough,” “I’m worthless,” “I can’t.” Many of us realized that self-esteem does not come from the approval of others, but rather from inner healing.

This retreat showed that when faith, psychological awareness, and sincere fellowship come together, women encourage one another and find renewed strength.

Bringing God’s Word today also means creating spaces where women can free themselves from false thoughts and opinions, heal from emotions that hold them back, and rediscover the beauty of being a woman who is loved and called to live with dignity and strength.

And what began on that day continues to grow.
