Every five years, typically in the year following the General Conference Session, department leaders from around the world gather at the General Conference headquarters for strategic advisories. These meetings help align global mission priorities with each department's unique needs.
From March 6–11, the Women’s Ministries (WM) Advisory convened in Silver Spring, Maryland, bringing together WM directors from all world divisions. While most leaders attended in person, others joined virtually due to unavoidable circumstances.
A deep sense of fellowship and sisterhood marked the week. For some directors, it was the first time meeting their colleagues face‑to‑face. Despite representing a wide range of cultures, languages, and backgrounds, the women found common ground in their shared questions, challenges, and commitment to serving the Lord. United in purpose, they expressed a collective desire to help women in their territories thrive spiritually and feel supported in their walk with God.
Throughout the advisory, participants engaged in discussions on a variety of topics. Special attention was given to abuse recovery initiatives and an enditnow panel featuring departments collaborating in the global campaign to end violence.
A highlight of the week was an excursion to the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C., offering a meaningful cultural and spiritual experience.
The advisory coincided with the International Day of Prayer (IDOP) Sabbath. Participants paused to observe the day and shared reports of prayer events taking place across their territories—powerful reminders of the vibrant involvement of women in ministry all around the world.
