What if it were for a time like this?

  • Women’s Ministries Conference in the South France Conference

From June 12 to 14, 2026, nearly a hundred women gathered at the Moulin de l’Ayrolle in the Cévennes for the Women’s Ministries (WM) conference, centered on a powerful theme: “What if it were for a time like this? Woman of today, what are you called to do?” This gathering allowed participants to reflect on their identity, mission, and responsibility as women, highlighting the values, vision, and talents that God has entrusted to them. The message of the conference was enhanced by several memorable presentations.

Dagmar Dorn, EUD WM Director, led a reflection on the role of women in biblical history through the example of Moses’ mother and sister. She reminded the group that God chooses to act through women who, through their decisions and faith, can have an impact far beyond what they imagine. Her message invited each woman to reflect on her place and calling in the current season of her life.

Daniela Gelbrich, Professor of Old Testament at the Adventist Theological Faculty in Collonges-sous-Salève, led the participants in an in-depth study of the story of Esther. Through the journey of this woman in a strategic position, she highlighted an important truth: God is sometimes present even when His name is not directly mentioned. In the story of Esther and Mordecai, we discover active faith, discernment in decision-making, and trust in God’s work at the heart of circumstances. The story of Esther provided an opportunity to reflect on the central question: “What if I were placed here for a time like this?” The participants were encouraged to recognize that their daily situations, responsibilities, and spheres of influence can become spaces where God acts through them.

In her presentation, Ludivine Gustave Dit Duflot invited the women to become aware of the authority God has entrusted to them. Following Esther’s example, she reminded them that spiritual authority is not about domination but about responsibility. She called on every woman to take a stand, to move beyond a passive stance, and to fully embrace the mission entrusted to her. Her message encouraged the participants to reclaim their rightful place, to give God first place in their daily lives, and to no longer simply endure circumstances but to become active agents in the choices and direction of their lives.

Chloé Gagnebin addressed the issue of resource management and financial responsibility. She encouraged the participants to develop their abilities and to wisely manage the gifts and talents entrusted to them by God.

This conference was a time of inspiration, teaching, and renewal. It enabled each participant to leave with a key insight: to recognize her worth, develop her talents, and respond with confidence to the call addressed to her. “What if it were for a time like this?”
