  • Woman, You are Free!

This summer, from 3-5 June 2022, in Sălciua, Jud. Alba, a special program was held for the first time, entitled Woman, you are free! The program was addressed to victims of domestic violence and had a great impact on the participants (abused women from different backgrounds and of different ages). The project was coordinated by Simona Anca, president of the Ianna/Floare-aleasă Association, from Câmpia Turzii and director of the Women's Ministries Department of Northern Transylvania Conference. The team included doctors, psychologists, and volunteers. Activities for personal development were organized in the form of discussion groups (Self-esteem, Between Us Girls), seminars (Gender Diamond), round table "Let's understand the love of living better", art therapy (making paintings using various techniques), massage therapy for participants and hiking in nature.
The meeting was designed to motivate participation in a dialogue that would transform relationships between those present for an exchange of knowledge, learning, and relaxation. In this dialogue, each person had the opportunity to learn new things, even if the contexts they come from are very different. It is important to point out that throughout the meetings a climate of constant respect was maintained, especially when dealing with personal issues, beliefs, interests, and experiences. Working in such groups seeks to promote collaboration and facilitate better learning through the dynamic exchange of information and personal experiences which broadens the perspectives from which we can approach new life situations.
We thank God that we were able to get to know each other and appreciate the benefits that a close relationship with God and with our fellow human beings can bring and how this experience can transform concrete reality.
As reported by Simona Anca, Director of the Women's Ministries Department, Northern Transylvania Conference, Romania
