“Full of hope into the new year” was the theme of our first women’s evening this year, as always on the last Wednesday of the month. As a team, we were delighted to welcome a total of 16 women to our church that evening. After a cozy meal, we got into the mood for the devotion with the song “Wonderfully protected” (text based on Dietrich Bonhoeffer). Isaiah 40:31 served as a guiding thought: “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
Let go and let the Lord lead you. Especially in difficult and challenging times, with the current news of wars and conflicts in the world, and personal problems, we find hope through prayer and encouraging Bible verses. We also looked at other Bible texts together, such as Jeremiah 29:11-14a and Joshua 1:9, and then discussed these encouraging texts in our respective table groups.
Strengthened and full of hope, we look forward to the year that has begun, knowing that we can place our complete trust in the Lord
