Resilience Training with Women from the Mühlacker Adventist Church

What helps us when life doesn't go according to plan? And what can we do to keep life's burdens from draining our strength over time? Twelve women from the Mühlacker Adventist Church came together to explore these questions and to discover their sources of strength—and what can help them stay grounded even in difficult times.

The resilience training was not about having to be strong all the time or overcoming every crisis as quickly as possible. Instead, the participants focused on their own resources: What gives me stability? Where do I find my strength? Which thought patterns and behaviors help me—and which ones might be draining more of my energy than I realize?

The sessions alternated between brief expert-led presentations, practical exercises, personal reflection, and conversations. The small group, in particular, provided space for openness, different experiences, and mutual encouragement.

Faith was naturally an integral part of the experience. Resilience does not mean having to accomplish everything through our own strength. Christian hope also grows from trusting that we are supported through difficult times and that we can bring our worries and struggles before God.

In this way, the training became a shared weekend of reflection, exploration, and renewal—with insights and practical ideas that the participants could take straight into their everyday lives.
