The start of the Thinking Well, Living Well Seminar attracted a huge turnout for the first topic. Forty-eight people attended the lecture—significantly more than had registered—and several extra tables had to be brought in. Right at the start, the speaker, Susanne Fesl, asked: “On a scale of 1 to 10, rate how you’re feeling!” Susanne made it clear to us that our thoughts play a major role in our mental well-being. One of the simplest yet most effective ways to achieve this is to write down what we are grateful for every day. Susanne showed us various models that can help us stay or become mentally—and often physically—stable. We also received valuable tips on stress management.

There was a big crowd at Susanne’s table with essential oils. Each visitor was able to mix oils to suit her needs; there were oils whose scent makes it easier to fall asleep, others that lift your mood, and still others that reduce stress. The entire room was filled with fragrance—from the essential oils, but also from the lovingly prepared dishes brought by the women.

The women had a wonderful time filled with laughter, joy, and very valuable tips for their lives. Susanne used various Bible passages to show how much God cares about our well-being.

The conclusion of many participants: It was well worth coming; we’ve learned a lot of positive things that will benefit our lives! This proved the Bible verse, “A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones” Proverbs 17:22NIV.
