The Women’s Ministries of Seventh Day Adventist Church in Queluz, Portugal decided they wanted to throw an afternoon social tea for women, but an all inclusive one. So they chose to do it at the city park.
Their main purpose was to show other women passing by that it was a free event, and people were invited to join in.
It would be a moment to relax amongst church women and an incredible chance to reach out to the ladies of the community.
A special prayer tent was set up and inside we could find a prayer/gratitude notebook for all those who wished to write down their requests and praises.
Every detail was planned to honor and glorify God.
A small message was shared, followed by some music and other dynamics.
This experience was very satisfying, because whenever someone stopped and asked about what was happening we talked about our church, where it was located and extended the invitation to come by someday in the future.
One on-looking lady came close and accepted to join us on the spot. She told us she had asked God what to do because she felt lonely and sad, with no friends and suddenly she felt this urge to go the park and shortly after she was being invited to join us at the tea social.
We prayed with her, for her and she was happy to know God had showed her she wasn’t alone and had friends after all. It was a very special thing to witness and experience.
We felt blessed and we long to do it again sometime soon.
