The Women's Ministries Department of the Adventist Church in Sesto San Giovanni, near Milan, organizes a monthly meeting for women only. The goal is to get together for an hour or so on a Sunday afternoon to get to know each other a little better while sipping herbal tea or juice, and munching on dried fruit, and other treats.
From time to time, our director, Annalisa Minò, asks one of the participants to tell about significant life experiences in her life. And so we have been able to listen to the experience of Silva, Sara, and, on Sunday, June 4, 2023, Annalisa’s own story. These moments turn out to be very inspiring because the women tell about their frailties, hopes, and obstacles of various kinds like illnesses. They speak directly to the feelings of the listening women who empathize with those who are confessing what they are going through in an unsuspected heavy period.
The prayers that are spoken are touching moments. The atmosphere that is established is definitely one of intimacy and sisterhood, healthy cheerfulness, and also of spiritual support. We enjoy being together and really feel the presence of the spirit of Jesus motivating our testimonies.
