On Sabbath, May 16, our church in Hnojník, Czech Republic, experienced a very special Sabbath — one that was entirely organized and led by the young girls of our congregation.
These teenage girls, between the ages of 10 and 16, meet regularly to build friendships and encourage one another as they learn how to experience God in everyday life.
For this special Sabbath, they prepared a meaningful program to share with the church what they do during their gatherings. Most importantly, however, they took responsibility for the entire worship service themselves. From praise and worship, prayers, Scripture reading, and sharing personal testimonies, to leading the Sabbath School program and children’s Sabbath School — the girls served wholeheartedly and joyfully.
It became a beautiful experience not only for the congregation, but especially for the girls themselves, as they discovered that they are valuable, needed, and irreplaceable in serving both God and their church community.
