  • Preparing for the Kingdom

“We are preparing for the Kingdom!” - This is something a new friend said to me the other day while on vacation. On August 26, I witnessed what it means to prepare for the Kingdom. Three women and a young man made a public commitment to Jesus through baptism. At a lake north of Hamburg, we experienced a day of celebration together with the International Church and the Russian Church.
Two of the women are active in the International Church, where I got to know one of them at the Women’s Ministries Events. The other two are from the Russian-speaking church.
It was a very emotional moment when we sang the song:
“I have decided to follow Jesus… no turning back, no turning back.
Though none go with me, I still will follow… no turning back, no turning back.
The world behind me, the cross before me… no turning back, no turning back.”
It was a moment of personal decision that made me reflect on the day when I also made that decision. Have you looked back at your baptism recently? My heart was full of joy and gratitude for such a wonderful day. Our best wishes and God’s blessings will accompany our ‘newborn’ sisters and brother.
