June 25, 2016 was a special day for a part of Bulgarian society, not only because it was Sabbath, but also because the First Women’s Conference for Roma people took place. The event was held in the town of Septemvri and about 250 people of all ages attended it. Special guest speaker was Denise Hochstrasser, who presented two sermons with which she caught the audience’s attention.
In the end of the program all those present had the opportunity to participate with their own performance – a song, a poem or to share their own inspiring story with God. The youngest participant was a beautiful girl who was only 6 years old.
For everyone the day was full of joy, smiles, gratitude and new friendships. The Roma women are already waiting for their second conference, asking when it is going to be.
