On the morning of January 25, 2016, the first "Desert Flower Center" baby was born at Waldfriede Hospital in Berlin at 5:37 a.m. The little girl received the name Muntaz and weighed 4390 grams at birth. She is strong and healthy.
The baby's mother came to the first meeting of the self-help group in January 2015. About ten days later she requested reconstructive surgery as she wanted to get married and start a family. She was 20 years old and had fled from Somalia. The surgery in February 2015 enabled her to have a pregnancy without complications and now she and her husband have a wonderful daughter. We are expecting another DFC baby soon.
