This March 2026, various Adventist churches in Spain are celebrating the Women’s International Day of Prayer with special events focused on fellowship, reflection, and mission. The initiative, led by the Women’s Ministry, includes prayer programs, testimonies, workshops, musical activities, and outreach events, seeking to strengthen the faith and unity of the congregation.
Colmenar Viejo: “A Special Sabbath Focused on Prayer”
At the Colmenar Viejo Adventist Church, starting March 1, a prayer written by women in the congregation was shared daily on the church’s mailing list in preparation for Sabbath, March 7.
During the event, the women participated in testimonies, worship, musical performances, and preaching, reflecting on the various forms of prayer with biblical examples and practical applications. Each woman received a rose as a gift, and they shared a fellowship lunch.
In the afternoon, psychologist Marian Sánchez led a workshop on how happiness is a choice. Coordinated by the Women’s Ministry, the entire congregation enjoyed an inspiring day centered on Jesus and a personal relationship with Him. Author: Keila Silva, Colmenar Viejo Church (Madrid).
Logroño: “Invictas: Women Who Triumph with Christ”
In Logroño, under the theme “Invictas,” the Women’s Ministry organized a week of prayer from March 1 to 7 dedicated to women who have trusted in Christ’s grace to overcome difficulties. Each day featured a reflection on a biblical woman, from Esther to the Samaritan woman, addressing themes such as identity, purpose, redemption, and service.
On Sabbath, to conclude the week, many women accepted the call to become “Invictas Missionaries,” committed to sharing the light of Christ in the world. The day concluded with a fellowship meal prepared by the men of the church, who served the women.

Móstoles: “Together in Prayer and Reflection on Inspiring Women”
In Móstoles (Madrid), the emphasis on Sabbath was prayer, with the children’s Sabbath School based on Proverbs 31:10 and the theme hymn “Together in Prayer.” Four women—Margarita Martínez, Tiani Figuereo, Ketty Chacón, and Elena Leiss—along with elder Sully Bolaños, shared testimonies about women who have made significant contributions, from Wangari Maathai and Irena Sendler to biblical figures such as Lydia and Anna.
In the afternoon, psychologist Ana Turmac reflected on female identity and emotional well-being in today’s context, taking into account family, cultural, and spiritual factors. The event concluded with a snack prepared by the women of the church.

Vitoria-Gasteiz: “The Prayer That Turns Tears into Hope”
The Adventist Church in Vitoria-Gasteiz, for its part, held a day of fellowship and spiritual renewal organized by the Women’s Ministry, under the direction of Lucia Helena Carneiro Guimarães. The program included Sabbath School, times of worship, Bible reading, and intercessory prayer.
The guest speaker, Aida Patricia Hernández Salazar, presented a message on how God transforms pain into light, drawing examples from biblical women such as Hannah and the sinful woman who approached Jesus. The music, led by Suzete Mateus, accompanied each moment, reinforcing the experience of fellowship with God.

Tudela: “Reflection on Emotions and the True Struggle”
At the church in Tudela, psychologist Ruth Somolinos shared reflections on the importance of emotions in the Christian life, noting that even Jesus experienced sadness. The celebration of International Women’s Day was also discussed, emphasizing that humanity’s true struggle is spiritual and that men and women are equally valuable in God’s eyes.
The event invited those present to strengthen their prayer life and maintain their faith amid challenges and emotions, reminding them that God hears and guides every believer.

In all these churches, the celebration of International Women’s Day and the Day of Prayer strengthened fellowship, faith, and the commitment to share Christ’s love, leaving a message of hope, gratitude, and service in each community. 1
