'Lord, I am available!'
During Christmas, the scene of Gabriel appearing to Mary is everywhere — in art, in music, in every nativity scene. But you know what strikes me most? That in the middle of something overwhelming… something impossible… Mary simply said, ‘I am available.’ She didn’t need all the answers. She didn’t wait until her life felt perfectly in order. She didn’t ask God for a safer plan.She trusted — quietly, courageously — that if God was calling her into something bigger, He would walk with her through every step. And maybe that’s the invitation for us in this new year. Not to be perfect.
Not to be certain.
Not to feel ready.
But to be available.
To whisper, ‘God, I don’t know how this will unfold… but I’m here. I’m willing. Use me.’
Because God can do extraordinary things with a heart that’s open.
So maybe our prayer this year is simply: ‘Lord, I’m available.’
