The "I Run for Mom" charity run brought together 4,000 runners from 13 cities across Romania to combat domestic violence. The 5th edition of the charity run, organized by the AMiCUS Romania Student Federation in partnership with ADRA Romania, was a resounding success. This event, held as a charity run, took place in 13 cities with the aim of supporting the fight against domestic violence. Participants had the opportunity to donate to support mothers and children affected by domestic abuse, helping them reintegrate into society through the "ADRA House" project.
For ADRA Romania, the “I Run for Mom” charity run meant donations totaling 229,190.5 lei (of which 103,852.79 lei were donated to support victims of domestic violence, with the remainder covering administrative expenses). 4,000 runners (including 880 children and 444 AMiCUS volunteers involved on the day of the event). 13 cities involved (Arad, Brașov, Bucharest, Cluj, Craiova, Iași, Oradea, Pitești, Sibiu, Sighetu Marmației, Suceava, Târgu-Mureș, and Timișoara).
The organizer, the AMiCUS Romania Student Federation, sought to assist mothers and their children (victims of domestic violence) supported by ADRA Romania with free services through the project “Emergency Shelter for Victims of Domestic Violence – CASA ADRA.” The objective is the social reintegration of beneficiaries and the provision of comprehensive specialized services.
