In October, breast cancer awareness is highlighted worldwide with pink ribbons. Women’s health and breast cancer prevention were therefore also the topics of the monthly Women’s Group in Tübingen on October 6, 2026. Dagmar Dorn, Director of the Women’s Ministries Department in the Inter-European Division, was the evening’s speaker. As a qualified nurse and midwife, she provided the women with important information about breast cancer.
One of the most important preventive measures is to regularly examine your own breasts, as this can help detect changes at an early stage. The earlier abnormalities are detected, the better the chances of successful treatment. Using a breast model, the women had the opportunity to practice how to perform a breast self-examination. The benefits of a healthy lifestyle were also emphasized.
Following the interesting and informative presentation, the participants were able to ask questions. While enjoying snacks, there was also plenty of time for conversation and fellowship. It was a lovely evening for women in a warm and relaxed atmosphere. In November, the women’s group will once again make heart-shaped pillows for women recovering from breast cancer surgery. The pillows will be donated to the University Hospital. Placed under the arm, these heart-shaped pillows provide valuable comfort and support for women after breast surgery.
