  • A Weekend When God Touched the Hearts of Women

From June 19–21, the Balta-Albă Church in Bucharest hosted a special program dedicated to the Women’s Ministries Department, centered on faith, prayer, and the call to ministry.

The weekend began on Friday evening with the seminar “More Than Crumbs,” led by Elena Petrescu, based on the powerful biblical account of the Canaanite woman (Matthew 15:21–28). The message highlighted unwavering faith and the love of a God who responds to those who seek Him with all their hearts. The atmosphere was enriched by the moving testimonies of a group of six sisters who shared personal experiences of God’s miraculous interventions in their lives. The prayer service, led by Rodica Dumitrescu, brought numerous causes for intercession before God, reminding us of the great power of prayer offered in faith.

The Sabbath was a true spiritual celebration. The worship service included the sermon “Queen at Any Cost or Princess of God?”, presented by Iulia and Delia Drăghici—a profound message about a woman’s identity in God’s plan, illustrated with biblical examples from the Old Testament. At the end, the poem recited by Oana Mark provided a moment of tenderness and gratitude dedicated to all the women present.

In the afternoon, the seminar “We Need You!” highlighted the beauty and responsibility of the various roles women fulfill in the family, the church, and society. The seven presentations all conveyed the same truth: God calls every woman to be a blessing wherever she has been placed. The program continued on Sunday in a warm and welcoming atmosphere, alongside numerous women invited from the community. Following the musical performances and the devotional led by Alina Badea, Elena Petrescu led the seminar “You Are Chosen,” inspired by the life of Esther. The message emphasized that God guides the steps of those who trust in Him and chooses ordinary people for extraordinary works. Just as Esther was raised up “for such a time as this,” every woman today is called to be a light and a hope in the place where God has placed her.

As a symbol of hope and of the reward promised by God, all participants received a small wreath, reminding them of the crown of life prepared for the faithful. Special music and poems moved the entire congregation, and at the end, all the women were invited to the front, where Pastor Claudiu Goran offered a prayer of blessing over them. The entire event concluded with a healthy, abundant meal, during which fellowship continued in a warm, friendly atmosphere. Each guest received a “I Pray for You” prayer journal as a gift, as an encouragement to remain united in prayer and ministry.

These were three days during which God spoke to women’s hearts, strengthened their faith, and renewed their calling to be bearers of His love in the family, in the church, and in the world. With hearts full of gratitude, the participants returned home, encouraged to live out the truth that, in God’s hands, every woman is chosen, cherished, and called to a work of eternal value.
