On the weekend of March 28 and 29, the Quiérete project, in collaboration with the Seventh-day Adventist Church of Icod de los Vinos, held the “Victorious Women” retreat, a space designed to disconnect from the noise of daily life and reconnect with faith.
The goal was more than achieved: for each participant to return home not only spiritually renewed, but also equipped with practical tools to live with greater peace and emotional balance.
A Start Marked by Identity and Sisterhood
The Sabbath began with a warm welcome to the tune of the theme hymn, “Woman, Divine Design.” From the very first moments, an atmosphere of sisterhood and closeness was felt.
The icebreaker activity, “My Sister’s Shield,” allowed participants to introduce themselves in a meaningful way, recognizing and affirming each other’s virtues. This exercise laid the foundation for an atmosphere of solidarity, partnership, and sisterhood.
One of the most significant moments was the session “Identity: Daughter Before Warrior.” Through the “balloon load” activity, the attendees visualized the responsibilities they often carry on their shoulders, and then were reminded that their value does not lie in their burdens or roles, but in their identity as beloved daughters of God.
The day continued with the “Wall of Victories” and the “Return to Me” sessions, moments of reflection that invited participants to acknowledge God’s presence in their personal journeys and in each woman’s story of overcoming adversity.
Details That Convey Value
Every element of the retreat was carefully prepared to convey a message of love and purpose. Among the giveaways presented were: Personalized journals and magazines, designed for study and personal reflection. Souvenirs featuring biblical promises, such as acrylic plaques with the text from Psalm 46:1: “God is our refuge and strength,” and stones decorated with Psalm 37:5.
Symbols of faith, such as a mirror with the message: “For you… this is why Jesus died,” reminding us of the infinite value of each person in the eyes of their Savior.
Inner Healing and Spiritual Commitment
The Sunday began with the “Awakening of the Victorious,” followed by the workshop “Healing from Within,” a key space for addressing emotional wounds in light of biblical promises.
The retreat culminated with the moving activity “Surrendering My Crown,” accompanied by the theme song “Give Me Victory.” It was a moment of surrender and consecration, in which the participants recognized that true victory is achieved by laying both burdens and achievements at the feet of Christ.
A Legacy That Continues
After the traditional group photo and a fellowship lunch, the attendees enjoyed the hotel’s facilities before returning home. More than just a break from routine, this retreat marked a turning point. Thanks to the commitment of the local church and the organizing team, a group of women is moving forward with renewed hope. Women who walk with their heads held high, knowing that they are virtuous, courageous, and, above all, victorious in Christ.
“She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come” (Proverbs 31:25).[1]
