Sabbath of Praise and Reflection on Motherhood

Women’s Sabbath in Augusta, Sicily

A special service was held Sabbath, May 17, at the Adventist Church in Augusta, Sicily, dedicated entirely to showing that as women we are God’s daughters, and also parents, and how crucial the role of mothers is in society and the Christian community. The event was actively attended and facilitated by youth and adults in an atmosphere of deep reflection and gratitude.
The morning was opened by the melodious voices of the youth, whose songs created an atmosphere of joy and hope. This was followed by touching dedications emphasizing the importance of the mother figure in one's life, while thank-you poems to mothers added an additional level of emotional sharing.
The heart of the meeting was the message of Pastor Abigaela Trofin, who led those present in a deep spiritual reflection. The pastor highlighted how biblical female figures, even in their different circumstances, reveal motherhood, a task that requires sacrifice, dedication, and a love that often goes beyond words.
The sermon did not stop at biblical figures or personal mothers, but extended to the crucial role that mothers play in our society and how the community can be a concrete support for them. Different stages of maternal life and various family situations were considered, highlighting the need for specific support.
The men offered aromatic seedlings to all the physical and spiritual mothers of the church. Together, members of the Augusta and Lentini churches enjoyed a spiritually blessed time that continued in an elegant lunch and an afternoon gathering with the sharing of experiences.
