From April 18 to 20, 2025, the second Women's Congress took place at Notre Dame de Chant d'Oiseau in Brussels. The first congress was organized two years ago with the theme Making the Desert Bloom. Highly anticipated by many women, this congress was entitled: Living for a Bold Goal with keynote speaker Lynn Kanga Mazarin. And indeed, the first of the bold objectives was to bring together once again in one place all the different languages, cultures, and diversity of origin and age of our conference. We wanted to make the weekend as rich as possible, so that every participant could come away stimulated. That's why plenum sessions, individual and group work, various workshops, and listening times were offered throughout the weekend. There were many opportunities to learn, share, encourage each other, and take part in sports activities. In short, great opportunities to forge new friendships between sisters in the faith.
Throughout the preparation and, above all, during the whole weekend, we sensed God's presence, right down to the smallest detail. We were particularly pleased to see many young women who were really enthusiastic about their weekend. Their feedback was touching, and many expressed their wish to meet up with us again as soon as possible, instead of having to wait another two years.
Thank you to Lynn Kanga Mazarin, Isabella Guerrero, Marie-Pierre Péchoux, Thirza van de Broek, Isabelle Raucy, Inge Pollin, Paulette Abati, Diane Regis, Zoé Nolis for your presence and contributions to the program.
Here are a few extracts from the feedback we received:
- An impactful weekend, full of rejuvenation, friendship and encounters. It was brilliant! Thanks to Yvonne Ajinça and her entire team for organizing it!
- This weekend had a big impact on me. I was reunited with my first-name namesake, Lynn Kanga, the speaker, inspired by the Holy Spirit. She reminded us that we are daughters of God and that we have value, no matter what limitations society may impose on us. We are destined to accomplish important tasks in our lives, and the only way to do that is to deconstruct what has been instilled in us, and rely on God's truths about our role as daughters of the King of the Universe.
- Every time I'm amazed at how God works and speaks to people's hearts. This convention was no exception for the 115 women present around the theme of ‘living for a bold goal’. I was encouraged to remember how precious I am in God's eyes, and that He has a plan for me and wants me to use my talents and gifts in His service. What is God calling me to do? This conference has allowed me to slow down and think things through, because while some areas of my life are clear, others are less so.
For the Women’s Ministries in the Swiss Romande section, of which I am one of the leaders, we also have to meet many bold goals. The seven women from Switzerland who accompanied me also felt called to take on the “bold goal” of creating a WM group in their church. I'm so happy for them. Praise God! I also met and shared with some wonderful people. Let's continue to be united in prayer. Being on the move starts with prayer. - I learned from the moderator that we can dare to lead differently as women. It's based on our skills, our identity in Christ. It's unique because we are unique.
- The workshop on non-violent communication did me a lot of good. We laughed a lot with our examples. Here, we looked at the importance of responding in four steps in conflict situations. The last two steps will help me identify my need and formulate a request to satisfy/respond to that need.
- Individual involvement in each plenary session was appreciated.
- I got winks from God and that's so good." – Jackie
- I was so blessed to meet precious women from Belgium, Luxembourg, France, and Switzerland, who love God. We were encouraged to pursue our calling in Christ, walking humbly in faith.
- Talking with some women, I was encouraged by their testimonies of how prayer has impacted their lives and those around them.
- What a wonderful Savior we serve! Yes, He is risen, and His word is alive today!
Thank you for your warm welcome among you!
