Women's Breakfast in Lahr, Germany

“Hands - the extension of my heart”

Women's Breakfast in Lahr, Germany

The Women's  Ministries team of the Lahr church in the Black Forest - was delighted to welcome a total of 50 women to the women's breakfast at the beginning of March. There were 18 guests and 32 women from our congregation and neighboring congregations.
The women's breakfast opened with the song: “Thank you for every new good morning” and prayer. Afterwards, we marveled at the wide range of vegetarian and vegan dishes on offer. Everyone had participated in bringing something, and so we were “spoiled for choice” as to what we wanted to try and eat first.
Marion Knirr, Women’s Ministries Director for the Baden-Wuerttemberg Conference, then gave a talk on “Hands - the extension of my heart”. She spoke about human hands, about what we can or cannot do with them. She took us on a wonderful journey that led us to our hearts and how Jesus fills our hearts with joy, love, gratitude, and humility. The women listened intently to her words and felt this great infinite love of God for us. Finally, we sang the song: “Good that we have each other, good that we see each other..... and ended with a prayer.
We had a lovely time on this Sunday morning. We sat together for a long time and had many good conversations. The guests were very impressed by our loving togetherness. We are already looking forward to our next women's breakfast at the end of April 25 and, above all, to our guests.
Until our next women's breakfast, we want to keep Romans 12:13 NIV in mind: “Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practise hospitality.” Yes, let's invite guests to our home. Be it for a small lunch, tea, coffee or simply for a chat. Let's take time for our guests.
