What does Respect Mean

Women’s  Sabbath in Luebeck, Hanse Conference, Germany

On October 9, 2021, the Women’s Ministries department of the Hanse Conference organized the second women‘s Sabbath on the topic of ‘Respect, what does it mean‘ in the Lübeck church. The topic was of interest both for women as well as men. Maren Schmidt, who is a specialist in education for the hearing-impaired, led through the program with a very professionally prepared presentation.
The sun was shining with full force and promised to give us a great Sabbath. Women came from far and hear and joined in with joy. The church was full, of course in compliance with the Corona measures, with necessary distance and masks.
A short video clip by Loriot showed with humor the problems of communication between women and men. What is good communication? The parallels between respect and love, what the Bible says about this topic, and how we can develop and optimize things were developed. Eye to eye or side by side?
With the sun shining radiantly, the potluck was enjoyed in the church garden. Delicious food, sunshine, and good conversation...what more could you ask for?
In the afternoon,  25 women deepened the theme of the sermon and experienced various things t four activity points. The accompanying men also elsewhere in the afternoon for a discussion on the sermon and a barbecue.
I could see on their faces how happy everyone was to be there. An hour and a half after the program officially ended, no one wanted to leave. That just shows the longing for fellowship and normality.
Until we meet again, be blessed and stay safe.
